Tau Pi Phi

What Is Tau Pi Phi?

Founded in 1931 on Wittenberg's campus, Tau Pi Phi is a business and economics honors society for students of high academic achievement. As an honors society, the purpose is to promote scholarship in the study of business and economics, encourage the practice of the highest ethical canons in business, and foster the social nature of business. Each year, students who meet certain academic criteria are initiated into the honors society, and earn membership that provides them with opportunities before and after graduation.

What Does Tau Pi Phi Do?

Each Spring, Tau Pi Phi will send representatives to the annual case competition. The case competition gives our members the opportunity to showcase their skills in business against other chapters of Tau Pi Phi from nearby schools. The competition is spread out over one weekend, and the members are given approximately one day to solve the case, and present their work on the following day to a panel of judges who determine the winners of the competition. Wittenberg's chapter of Tau Pi Phi has an award-winning past in the case competition, claiming the two-person and three-person group first place prize numerous times. Ultimately, the competition provides members of Tau Pi Phi the opportunity to learn through experience, and put their classroom knowledge to the test.
