WittClipse 2024
As North America experienced a total solar eclipse on April 8, Wittenberg was positioned perfectly in the path of 100% totality. The campus community and prospective students marked the astronomical phenomenon with space-themed food, Blackout Poetry, pinhole and colander viewers, lawn games, a library exhibit about Neil Armstrong receiving an honorary degree from Wittenberg in 1969, and an eclipse-focused chapel service. Professor Emeritus of Physics Dan Fleisch installed an accurately scaled model of the solar system on campus and provided a telescope for viewing. Honors Convocation
Wittenberg celebrated the achievements of students and faculty during the annual Honors Convocation in Weaver Chapel, April 5. Victoria Pipinich, Lucas, Texas, was named Alma Mater, and Naevon Boykin, Bowie, Maryland, was named Alma Lux. The 2024 Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Teaching was presented to Professor of Education and Department Chair Amy McGuffey. Layla Besson, professor of practice in education, received the Omicron Delta Kappa Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award as well as the Academic Advisor of the Year Award.
Connections Symposium 2024
Recognizing academic accomplishments of students and to highlight Wittenberg鈥檚 diversity of experiential learning opportunities, the University community will come together to present the second annual Connections Symposium on Friday, April 19, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in several locations across campus.
Leadership Awards
Celebrating individuals, organizations, or events that have impacted the campus community in a positive way, Wittenberg hosted the 12th annual Student Leadership Awards on Wednesday, April 10, in historic Weaver Chapel.
Lilly Fellows Named
Wittenberg faculty members Danny Marous, associate professor of chemistry, and Michael Daiga, associate professor of education, have been awarded Lilly Faculty Fellowships through the Lilly Network of Church-Related Colleges and Universities.
Commencement 2024
Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2024 are scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, in Commencement Hollow. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in Pam Evans Smith Arena, located in the Health, Wellness & Athletics (HWA) Complex. Megan Frost 鈥94, director of product design at Apple Inc., will deliver the keynote address.

A glimpse of Saturn through the lens of Wittenberg鈥檚 Weaver Observatory telescope became a pivotal moment for Chris Hartenstine 鈥03. Even though he could only see a quarter inch of the planet across the lens, it inspired a passion that would lead him to a career at NASA.

Scholarship Opportunity for Alumni
Beginning in Fall 2024, Wittenberg undergraduate alumni will be eligible to receive a $5,000 Alumni Graduate Scholarship to continue their education in one of the 麻豆传媒色情片 graduate programs. Students starting their graduate program in August 2024 will be automatically considered for the scholarship, which reflects the University's commitment to supporting its alumni in their academic endeavors and fostering a strong sense of community. Wittenberg offers a Master of Science in Analytics, Master of Arts in Sport Administration, Master of Arts in Education, and a Post-Master鈥檚 Certificate in Nursing Education. These programs are offered either fully online or in a hybrid environment. Contact the Office of Admission for more information.
