We met in the kitchen of the dining hall in Ferncliff Hall. Gus was washing pots and pans. One of his frat brothers brought Carol Wagner from the dining room so Gus could invite her to a house dance. She accepted the invitation!
We later started dating, followed by engagement, and marriage in September 1950 after Gus' graduate school and Carol's internship. At Witt, we loved taking walks on and off campus, and enjoyed the old "Kissing Bridge."
We are now living in a retirement apartment complex that offers lots of services!
