Wittenberg Role-Playing Guild Hosts Annual Event March 15

Springfield, Ohio 鈥 For the fifth consecutive year, game enthusiasts from around the state will gather at Wittenberg as the university's Role-Playing Guild hosts WittCon V: Alea Iacta Est! The event is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, in Wittenberg's Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning, located at 737 N. Fountain Ave.

WittCon, an alcohol-free event that is open to the public, brings together game enthusiasts of all experience levels in a friendly, inviting atmosphere. Larry Wick, creator of WEGS (Wickedly Errant Game System), is the featured guest at this year's event. He will make a presentation following a dinner scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Registration begins at noon, and the cost is $5, which includes dinner and registration fees. The first games begin at 1 p.m. and will continue until approximately midnight. Many games will be available, including two new board games, "Dungeon Slam!" and "M.O.E.: The board game," presented for testing by the community.

Other events include "Ninja Nutiness" (D&D Oriental Adventures), "Are You a Werewolf?" and "God Durnit!" (Scion). In addition, a representative from Reaper Miniatures will be on hand for a free Paint and Take table throughout the convention and an event titled "Introduction to Role-playing" will instruct newcomers about role-playing, how to create characters and a short introductory game.

Balloting for a costume contest will take place throughout the convention, with awards to be handed out at dinner. University rules and regulations prohibit weapons as part of the costumes on the premises.

More information on WittCon V is available online or by contacting the Role-Playing Guild via e-mail.
