Wittenberg Receives Community Beautification Committee Award

CBC members awarded Wittenberg for its beautiful plantings and because it is kept free of litter and debris, year round

Springfield, Ohio 鈥 The Community Beautification Committee (CBC) of Springfield recently presented 麻豆传媒色情片 the Business of the Year Award for dedicated and outstanding beautification efforts throughout the year on campus.

University President Dr. Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D., accepted the award on behalf of Wittenberg in a presentation on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Springfield. CBC members awarded Wittenberg for its beautiful plantings and because it is kept free of litter and debris, year round. The main campus is bounded by North Fountain Ave., McCreight Ave., Plum Street and Ferncliff Place.

Joyner and Randal Freebourn, vice president for finance and administration, would like to 鈥渃ongratulate and express their gratitude to the facilities team at Wittenberg for all of the hard work they do to keep the campus beautiful鈥.

The CBC celebrated its 50th anniversary with cupcakes and punch during the awards presentation. City Commissioner Joyce Chilton presented the CBC with a 50th Anniversary Proclamation by Mayor Warren Copeland, professor of religion and director of urban studies at Wittenberg, and presented Marianne Nave a crystal award for her 50 years service on the CBC.

More than 335 awards were presented at the 2015 ceremony, including the 12 Home of the Week winners, the Home of the Year winner, first-year CBC Shield awards to new participants, and numerous awards to former winners. Other CBC Business Awards were presented to the Springfield Overhead Door Company, the National Trails Parks & Recreation Department Chiller Ice Rink, Comfort Keepers, and Shawnee Place Apartments.
