Paid Time Off

Wittenberg employees are eligible for paid time off per the policies outlined in the Staff Manual. The following are the paid time off benefits that full-time administrative staff, support staff, and faculty are eligible to earn. Part-time staff working a minimum of 20 hours per week (for hourly staff) or 1,560 hours per year (administrative staff) are eligible for applicable pro-rated leaves. Additional information can be found in the Staff and Faculty Manuals and on the Payroll page.

Full-time administrative staff:

  • Up to five weeks annual vacation
  • Up to 24 days of sick leave per year
  • 10 paid holidays per year plus university closure between Christmas and New Year's*
    • *Essential staff may be expected to work during holiday closure.
  • Bereavement leave and jury duty leave
  • Parental leave

Full-time hourly staff:

  • Up to two to five weeks annual vacation (based on years of service)
  • Up to 12 days of sick leave per year
  • Two personal days per year with opportunity to earn additional days
  • 10 paid holidays per year plus university closure between Christmas and New Year's*
    • *Essential staff may be expected to work during holiday closure.
  • Bereavement leave and jury duty leave
  • Parental leave

Full-time faculty:

  • Up to 24 days of sick leave per year
  • 10 paid holidays per year plus university closure between Christmas and New Year's*
    • *Essential staff may be expected to work during holiday closure.
  • Bereavement leave and jury duty leave
  • Parental leave
  • Sabbatical leave
