Meal Plan Accommodation Information

Students living in residence halls and the Witten'Burbs are required to participate in a University meal plan. On occasion, a student鈥檚 documented disability precludes them from typical participation in the meal plan associated with living on campus. The meal plan accommodation process prioritizes finding options within what is available through Dining Services so students with documented disabilities can equally engage with the services provided. Wittenberg Dining Services has a robust variety of menu options for students with food allergies, food restrictions and/or special diets. Staff chefs and nutritionists review all ingredients, recipes and menus for allergens, train staff on food allergy accommodations and provides nutrition counseling and education for students to help with managing their dietary needs on campus. .

Students with disabilities who seek a meal plan accommodation should first submit a request to Accessibility Services with appropriate documentation to establish the presence of a disability. If the presence of a disability-related dietary need is established, students are referred to Dining Services (diningservices@wittenberg.edu) to determine if their dietary needs can be met. If Dining Services is unable to meet the needs of the student, the student will engage in an interactive process with Accessibility Services to provide the most appropriate outcome for the student.
